INDIANAPOLIS -- The city Friday revoked the license of a pet store that was accused of keeping dogs in unsanitary conditions and selling them with health problems.
The store, Nut & Butt Puppys, located in the 7200 block of U.S. 31 South, has been closed since Dec. 19, when animal control officers confiscated 20 dogs.
Investigators said several of the confiscated dogs were suffering from respiratory infections and other effects of living in unhealthy conditions. The dogs were taken from cages littered with animal waste, investigators said.
The store's owner, Angela Cummings, faces 59 citations on accusations the store violated laws relating to animal care.
