Psychic: Business Booming In Tough Times

In the midst of massive economic turmoil, more Hoosiers are turning to psychics in hopes of finding what their futures may hold.

Marilene Issacs, who has been offering readings for nearly 40 years, said business is up by up to 25 percent, 6News' Renee Jameson reported.

Isaacs, who works from a home on Westfield Boulevard, said she's talking to more clients from all walks of life, "from people who clean toilets to people who are having to sell their airplanes."

"I think we're going to see the real estate market turn around in nine months," Isaacs said. "It's like a gestation cycle. I predict in nine months, we're going to see people regaining value in their homes."

Financial adviser Brent Perry said people feel like they need to do something in desperate times, but talking to a psychic is a waste of time and lots of money.

"Are you saving for your future? Are you saving for now? Are you paying your current bills?" Perry said. "Are you making your life better now financially or are you making it more hard on yourself?"

Isaacs insists that she is a counselor and spiritual teacher with a purpose of healing people.

"What I like to do with my work as far as a healing aspect is to find out who you are, why are you on this Earth?" she said. "What's your highest good? What's the most fulfilling way you can be living your life?"

Psychic visits typically cost more than $100 per session.
