A 19-year-old man who was found dead in his Cumberland apartment Wednesday likely knew the men who killed him, police said.

Officers responded to 11535 Colonywood Drive on Indianapolis' far east side just after 6 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing gunshots, said Cumberland police spokesman Roger Waggoner.

They found a 19-year-old man shot several times in the chest. He was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police they saw two men carrying a TV leave the area in a white Chevrolet van with blue stripes. Police said a TV was missing from the victim's apartment.

The victim's name had not been released Wednesday evening. Police said he lived in the apartment with his father, who was home, but upstairs, at the time of the shooting.

This is Cumberland's first slaying in at least five years.
