A 26-year-old man was shot and killed in what police called a drive-by shooting on Indianapolis' north side Friday evening.

Lecoy Motley was shot in the chest just before 7 p.m. outside a home at 3253 Guilford Ave., said Sgt. Paul Thompson.

Witnesses said several shots were fired from a vehicle after Motley got into an argument with someone inside. Police said there were conflicting descriptions about the vehicle.

Thompson said Motley was known in the neighborhood, but was not a resident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
