Sarah Cornell

Although born a Buckeye, Sarah Cornell considers herself a Hoosier after living in Indiana for several years. She was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, and attended Indiana University, where she graduated with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Political Science.

Cornell joined the 6News Team in October of 2008. She came to Indianapolis from Evansville, where she reported and anchored for WEHT. Prior to that, she reported for WTWO in Terre Haute.

Cornell's reporting career started in Columbus, Ohio, as an intern for WSYX. It was there she learned being successful in this career takes hard work, dedication, and sacrifice.

"I've moved around a lot because of my job. Now that I’m settled in the city I've always dreamed of working in, I'm anxious to immerse myself in the community. I feel blessed that I get to practice my passion everyday."

When Cornell is not reporting, she enjoys running, traveling, cheering for Notre Dame and IU, visiting her family in Ohio and spending time with her husband, Casey.

Cornell is also an active member of her church, Common Ground, and the Indianapolis Junior League.
