Police are searching for at least four people after a fatal shooting early Wednesday morning on the city's west side in which multiple shots were fired from an assault rifle.

The shooting happened at about 3 a.m. at the intersection of 30th Street and Georgetown Road.

Alfred J. Davis, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. Tyrone Warren, 20, was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in serious condition, but with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Warren, who was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and staggering outside the car, told officers that he and Davis had just left Don Victors, a nightclub, when four men in a red PT Cruiser pulled up to a stoplight and opened fire.

Police found multiple shell casings from what they believe was an AK-47 assault rifle.

"It's a very high-velocity round. It's like a military round," said Indianapolis police Lt. Jeff Duhamell. "It's very dangerous, especially in the hands of criminals."

The red PT Cruiser was last seen eastbound on 30th Street. Investigators said they have no motive or suspects in the shooting.

Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
