Not Guilty Plea Entered In Youth Pastor's Molesting Arrest

3 Girls Say Sexual Contact Started When They Were 13

A judge in Franklin entered a not guilty plea for a former Salvation Army youth pastor facing child molestation charges involving three teenage girls, one of whom is pregnant.

Johnson Superior Court Judge Lance Hamner also raised 29-year-old Jonathan James Hartman's bond to $500,000 from $150,000 Monday because prosecutors consider him a flight risk.

Hartman is accused of molesting the girls, who are now 15, over the past three years at the Salvation Army church in Greenwood, located in the 300 block of Market Plaza. One of the girls told investigators that she is pregnant with Hartman's baby.

Police said the sexual encounters took place at the church, in Hartman's Indianapolis home and at another home in Franklin.

Investigators had said that more charges could be forthcoming.

The Associated Press left a message seeking comment from Hartman's court-appointed attorney, Dan Vandivier of Franklin.

Hartman's trial is set for Sept. 22.
