A flagpole that looks like a gun is drawing attention outside a Cloverdale business.

Bill Sutherland, who owns Bill's Hardware and Flooring Store, said he was looking for a unique way to display his patriotic pride.

He said his flagpole design is meant to honor veterans and those currently serving in the military.

"What states more what it takes to get our freedom than a gun?" he said. "It's a memorial to the ones that lost their life and now have their lives on the line for our freedom."

Sutherland said he's already had people come into his store and compliment the flagpole. He said he hopes more people will stop by and see it.
