INDIANAPOLIS -- Dozens of couples have come forward after a Call 6 investigation to share similar frustrations with a wedding photographer accused of taking their money but never delivering their pictures.More than a dozen newlyweds said Joseph Brewster and his company, Silver Lotus, photographed their ceremonies but never delivered any prints, Call 6's Rafael Sanchez reported.
Call 6 For Help: Share your experience with Silver Lotus\Joseph Brewster Photography?
Ann Minton thought she was alone in her struggle to get pictures of her wedding more than three years ago. Then her sister saw the Call 6 report Thursday night."(I thought) this nightmare could not possibly be happening to others," she said. "I'm very hurt. I'm very angry. And I think I'm very bitter."Milton said she and her husband paid Brewster more than $900. They received one engagement picture but not photos of the actual wedding.Getting her pictures has become a personal quest for Milton."My dad walked me down the aisle, which was the last time. It was his last year. My dad passed away in 2007," she said. "So it's something special that, you know, a girl wants to see that picture of her dad walking her down the aisle."Brewster's Web site is still up, but he told Call 6 that he's closing the business and focusing on bankruptcy. He refused to talk to Call 6 on camera but said over the phone that a family tragedy and a computer hard drive crash in the last year caused most of the problems. At least six brides have sued Brewster or his companies over the last four years. All won their cases, but none of the $20,170 judgments have been paid, which Brewster said he can't afford.Brewster told Call 6 that he would give each couple a CD with copyright release in place of their album if he still has their pictures. When Call 6 called and e-mailed Brewster to confirm the details of getting the photographs to each couple, he failed to respond.
