Flattened Bus Tires Force School Delay

Mississinewa Schools Discover Tire Damage

A Grant County school system was forced to delay classes Thursday morning because of what was likely a senior prank that caused damage.

Mississinewa Community Schools, in Gas City, imposed a two-hour delay on the system's last day of classes.

Superintendent Mike Powell told 6News that the maintenance director noticed at about 6:10 a.m. that tires had been flattened on all 23 buses.

Initially, school officials thought that vandals had simply let air out of the tires, but later determined that tire stems had been damaged.

School officials made the decision to hold classes anyway, without bus transportation.

Powell said those responsible for the damage will be caught and "dealt with accordingly."
