Indianapolis police on Monday released composite sketches of two men they call persons of interest in a triple slaying on Indianapolis' east side.

Jerromey Wingfield, 22, Devon Bledsoe, 19, and Shawnice Dunlap, 21, were found dead Friday inside an apartment at Cedar Ridge, near 38th Street and German Church Road.

Police have not released details about how they were killed, but called it a brutal slaying.

"We believe they were at or near the crime scene at the time of the occurrence," said Indianapolis police Sgt. Paul Thompson, referring to the men in the sketches. "This information has come to us from cooperating witnesses who were in the area about that time."

Family members said Wingfield and Dunlap were high school sweethearts and lived in the apartment together.

A family spokeswoman, who wanted to be identified as D Ray, told 6News that the killers were simply "cowards."

"Jerromey, you had to know his smile. Shawnice, just simply beautiful and furthering her education at IU," Ray said.

Bledsoe's sister, Daffany Coe, said the release of the images give family members hope the slayings will be solved.

"It was heinous. I don't understand why somebody would want to take three lives," she said.

Bledsoe's girlfriend, Shannon Dixon, is five months pregnant with his son.

"He got a glimpse, but he won't ever see him," Dixon said. "I still go home and expect him to be there, and he's not going to be there."

Police have talked with several witnesses, but no arrests have been made. Police asked anyone who recognizes the men in the sketches to call them 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
