INDIANAPOLIS -- A massive drug raid Tuesday morning netted 30 arrests and resulted in more than 40 children who were living in drug houses being taken into protective custody.About 30 pounds of marijuana and cocaine were forfeited in the raid, with a goal of disrupting the drug trade between Chicago and Indianapolis. The drug ring involved more than 20 locations in Indianapolis, including several businesses that were fronts for illicit activity, Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi said, including 26th Street Customers and Gates Auto Sales.
"Four o'clock in the morning, we had deputy prosecutors, police, ATF agents, state police all together ready to execute at 6 a.m.," Brizzi said. "The raids were simultaneous at 6 o'clock."Police said three men -- William Pargo, Robert Howard and Jerry Gates -- were masterminds of the drug ring.
