Police: Convicted Child Molester Has New Victims

Father: Family Friend Molested Daughter

UPDATED: 10:51 am EDT July 2, 2009

A convicted child molester is accused in a new case involving two girls after illicit photos and videos of the girls were found on his computer, police said.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department said Rickie Rarey, 49, of Bloomington, touched at least one of the girls, ages 7 and 8, inappropriately.

Rarey was convicted in 1994 on three counts of child molesting and was released from prison in 1996. He is on the state's sex offender registry.

Police said the girls' father reported the molestation in April and that Rarey is a friend of the girls' parents.

Investigators seized Rarey's computer and had a forensic analysis completed on the machine, which uncovered the images and video.

Investigators said the molestation incidents and photographs of those occurrences were taken between October 2008 and January 2009.

They aren't sure if there were any prior incidents involving the girls and Rarey.

Police said Rarey admitted touching one of the girls and having pictures on his computer.
