Midnight: "I never thought that I would be back here...and I am," "Argo" director Ben Affleck tells the crowd, his voice breaking.
11:55: Jack Nicholson presents First Lady Michelle Obama, who announces "Argo" as Best Picture winner!
11:50: Daniel Day-Lewis wins Best Actor for title role in "Lincoln," makes great Margaret Thatcher joke!
11:44: Jennifer Lawrence wins Best Actress for role in "Silver Linings Playbook."
11:33: Jane Fonda and Michael Douglas present achievement in directing to Ang Lee for "Life of Pi," a big upset!
11:27: Quentin Tarantino wins Best Original Screenplay for "Django Unchained." They were playing him off, but he started talking again, and the music stopped! "Peace out," he tells the crowd.
11:23: Charlize Theron and Dustin Hoffman present writing awards. "You're a very good dancer," Hoffman tells Theron. "Argo" gets Best Adapted Screenplay.
11:16: Adele is an Oscar winner! "Skyfall" wins Best Original Song.
11:08: Cast of movie "Chicago" reunite "because we were worried the show wasn't gay enough yet," MacFarlane quips. Best Original Score goes to "Life of Pi."
11:01: Barbra Streisand sings "The Way We Were" tribute to composer Marvin Hamlisch.
10:57: George Clooney introduces in memoriam segment. Greats lost in the last year include Ernest Borgine, Michael Clarke Duncan, Tony Scott and Nora Ephron.
10:51: Salma Hayek recaps honorary Oscars winners.
10:48: Daniel Rattcliff and Kristen Stewart present for production design. "Lincoln" wins.
10:45: Nicole Kidman presents next three Best Picture nominees. Stunning dress.
10:38: Adele performs "Skyfall" from the Bond movie, which she's nominated for tonight.
10:33: Sandra Bullock presents Best Film Editing to "Argo."
10:21: "Sound of Music" joke. Christopher Plummer presents Best Supporting Actress to Anne Hathaway for "Les Miserables" She says, "It came true!"
10:15: Sound editing... and there's a tie! First Oscar goes to "Zero Dark Thirty." Second goes to "Skyfall."
10:11: Mark Wahlberg and Ted, the animated bear from Seth's movie, "Ted," present sound mixing. "Les Miserables" wins.
10:09: "Star Trek" stars Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana recap technical awards, look beautiful.
10:04: All-star cast of "Les Miserables" perform central song. Second standing ovation of the night, after one for Hudson. Wow.
9:59: Jennifer Hudson reprises her Oscar-winning role from "Dreamgirls."
9:55: Catherine Zeta-Jones performs "All That Jazz" from Oscar-winning musical "Chicago." It's the last musical to win Best Picture. Check out the others.
9:53: John Travolta dances out on stage to introduce musical tribute to the Oscars!
9:50: Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Garner present Best Foreign Language film. "Amour," also nominated for Best Picture, takes home the prize.
9:43: Ben Affleck presents Best Documentary Feature. "Searching for Sugar Man" wins.
9:40: Liam Neeson, who was nearly cast in "Lincoln" instead of Daniel Day-Lewis, presents three of the year's Best Picture nominees. Check out other actors who've played Honest Abe.
9:36: "Curfew" wins short film (live action) and "Inocente" wins best documentary (short subject).
9:25: Shirley Bassey, in her Oscars debut, signs "Goldfinger"
9:22: "Bond" girl Halle Berry kicks off the celebration of 50 years of James Bond. Start the music...
9:18: "Anna Karenina," panned by critics, wins for Costume Design. "Les Miserables" takes home makeup and hair styling.
9:17: Jennifer Aniston and Channing Tatum on stage to present for costumes. And there was a body waxing joke.
9:12: OMG they're playing them off with the theme from "Jaws"!
9:10: "Life of Pi" wins for cinematography and visual effects.
9:06 p.m.: "Avengers" assemble! Male stars of franchise appear together on stage.
9 p.m.: "Brave" wins Best Animated Feature.
8:50: Christoph Waltz wins Best Supporting Actor for "Django Unchained"
8:42: Charlize Theron and Channing Tatum dance as Seth sings. And a sock puppet take on "Flight." Daniel Radcliffe and Joseph Gordon-Levitt sing, then a bit with Sally Field. And he ends with a musical number.
8:39 p.m.: And then there was a song about boobs. No joke.
8:30 p.m.: Oscars kick off with opening comedy bit by host Seth MacFarlane.
