Fishburn Shooting Trial Moved From Indianapolis
Trial Set For November In Porter County

INDIANAPOLIS -- The trial of a man accused of shooting an Indianapolis police officer in the head will be held in Porter County in northwest Indiana.Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi said the trial of Brian Reese, 37, on an attempted murder charge is scheduled to begin Nov. 2 in Valparaiso, just east of Gary.Reese's attorney requested a change of venue earlier this month, saying his client would not get a fair trial in Marion County because of extensive media coverage of the case.Officer Jason Fishburn was shot in July 2008 while chasing Reese on foot as part of a homicide investigation.Reese faces charges in three homicides that occurred in the days before the shooting.Fishburn has resumed limited duties with the Indianapolis Police Department.
