MIDLAND, Ind. -- The girlfriend of the man charged in the fatal shooting of his 14-month-old son was arrested Friday on charges related to the case. The Greene County Sheriff's Department said Tanya McIntyre faces charges of false informing and obstruction of justice.Investigators think McIntyre threw the gun that fired the shot that killed Travis Bohannon into a weedy, wooded area near the home of the boy's father, Ronald Bohannon, 29, who was charged with reckless homicide and several other charges.
Police said McIntyre then lied to police about what happened in the aftermath of the Aug. 16 shooting in Midland, about 25 miles southeast of Terre Haute.McIntyre was held Friday in the Greene County Jail, pending a court appearance.Police arrested Bohannon Thursday. He told investigators that he was carrying a cocked handgun that accidentally fired while he pushed his son's stroller, striking the boy in the head.Travis and his 4-year-old brother were at their father's home for a weekend visit as Bohannon and his wife are in the midst of a divorce, police said.
