Joanna Massee

As our "Tough Question" reporter, Joanna Massee works to get answers on important local stories. She is passionate in her quest to uncover the truth and hold our public officials accountable for their actions.

Massee is an award-winning journalist who came to RTV6 from Atlanta where she worked for CBS affiliate WGCL-TV.

During her tenure in Atlanta, Massee uncovered major stories, including an investigation into faulty police service weapons. Ultimately the department purchased new weapons. Her other investigations include uncovering questionable comp time taken by a top Metro Atlanta official. That official was removed from his position.

Massee began her on-air career in Virginia where she worked as an anchor and reporter at ABC affiliate WRIC-TV in Richmond. Her work has earned a regional Edward R. Murrow Award, as well as awards from the Virginia Associated Press and Georgia Associated Press Broadcasters Associations.

Massee started working in television in South Florida while completing her degree at the University of Miami. She worked as a field producer and assignment editor at CNN'S Miami bureau. While at CNN, she covered numerous national stories, including the contested presidential election in 2000. She graduated cum laude from UM's School of Communication.

Massee grew up in Westchester County, New York, just outside New York City. In her spare time she enjoys reading mystery novels and watching movies.
