Teen Arrested After Husband, Wife Found Dead

The bodies of a man and his wife were found inside a home in southern Jennings County late Tuesday evening, and a 17-year-old boy has been arrested in their slayings.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Donald Gregory said police were called to a rural home in the 1100 block of West 500 South just before 11 p.m., where they found Greg and Marguerite Gough dead.

Earlier in the evening, police found an abandoned 1987 Chevrolet Camaro that had been wrecked in a ditch on County Road 850 South, police said.

Officers were told that the driver, Ryan Renfroe, 17, of Columbus, had been taken to a truck stop in Seymour.

Police said the car was registered to the Goughs. When officers went to the truck stop, they questioned Renfroe and then took him into custody.

Police said that their questioning led them to suspect the Goughs had been hurt or killed in their home.

Officers and emergency medical responders then made the discovery of the bodies.

Renfroe was taken to the Jennings County Jail, where he will be charged as an adult with murder, Gregory said.
