UPDATED: 9:08 pm EDT October 2, 2009

A 27-year-old woman was found dead in her home near downtown Indianapolis Friday evening, police said.

Officers were called to the home at 238 N. Warman Ave. just after 5 p.m. when the woman's boyfriend came to check on her, said Sgt. Paul Thompson.

Kellye Schultz was found dead in the home. Investigators did not release the manner of death, although Thompson said it appeared to be a homicide.

Schultz's boyfriend told police that he hadn't heard from her since Thursday night. Police said the woman had three children, but none of them lived with her at the home, which was next door to her father and stepmother.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
