Crews were planning on staying on their rain routes throughout the afternoon looking for plugged storm inlets and drains.Heavy Rain Prompts Highway ClosureIt is a different story in southern Indiana, where heavy rain caused the closure of more than 10 miles of U.S. 31 in southern Indiana. The state Department of Transportation on Friday closed most of the highway from Indiana 60 south of Sellersburg north to Henryville. The agency said the closure will remain in effect until the water recedes. The rainfall that moved into Indiana on Thursday continued Friday in the southern part of the state.
