Judge Could Get Case By End Of Day

INDIANAPOLIS -- A verdict in the nearly two-week-long trial of a man in the slayings of seven people in 2006 was expected Thursday afternoon.The defense began presenting its case in the Desmond Turner trial Thursday morning after prosecutors finished with their witnesses Wednesday, 6News' Derrik Thomas reported.More: Uncut Live Trial UpdatesDr. David Foran, a forensic biologist, testified about Turner's clothing, which did not have the victims' DNA on it, despite extensive testing.Prosecutors said Turner washed the blue jeans and T-shirt he wore on June 1, 2006 -- the night of the slayings -- in a bathtub filled with water, hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol.Foran testified that neither hydrogen peroxide nor rubbing alcohol have an effect on DNA.Prosecutors questioned Foran's credentials as biologist, but the judge allowed the testimony.Watch 6News and refresh this page for updates.
