GREENSBURG, Ind. -- A man who police said was involved in two armed robberies in Dearborn County and another in Batesville was hospitalized after a police officer shot him Tuesday night.The shooting happened at about 9:20 p.m. as Greensburg police tried to stop Dustin Wise, 27, of Fortville, on Interstate 74 just north of Greensburg, said Indiana State Police Sgt. Noel Houze.Police said Wise ran from police and then turned off onto State Road 3.
Investigators said they saw and heard gunfire coming from inside the vehicle and that officers returned fire, wounding Wise.Wise was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition. Police said he had robbed two liquor stores and a gas station prior to the shooting.Additional information wasn't immediately released.
