Woman In Court On Unrelated Charge

INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman was arrested Wednesday in the weekend shooting death of a man on the city's northeast side.Indianapolis police Sgt. Paul Thompson said April McKenney, 20, fatally shot Gregory Ray, 33, at a home in the 2000 block of Roosevelt Avenue Saturday morning.McKenney was arrested while in court on an unrelated handgun charge, Thompson said."Detective (William) Rogers was grateful to members of the community that stepped forward to assist in the investigation, which is still ongoing," Thompson said in a news release.Officers found Ray inside the house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Police did not release information about a motive in the shooting.
