A Plainfield teenager was killed Monday night when his moped crashed into a pickup truck, police said.

Plainfield police said the crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. at county roads 600 South and 675 East.

Ben Kempf, 15, a freshman at Plainfield High School, struck the truck, investigator said.

No one else was injured and no charges were expected to be filed.

Principal Kellie Jacobs said the school had four counselors and a psychologist that were on hand to talk to students as needed.

Police were still trying to determine what led to the crash, which was the second involving a moped in central Indiana within two days.
