Wild Police Chase Caught On Cam

Police Arrest Man After He Stops In Field

POSTED: 7:18 am EST November 18, 2009

A wild police chase that involved a stolen car ended in Greenfield Tuesday, and the chase was caught on dash cam video.

Police said Robert McNutt, 41, was in a white van and showed no signs of slowing down, hitting speeds of more than 85 mph as officers from several agencies trailed him.

At one point, the van went into the grass, circled around and crashed into a police cruiser.

McNutt then drove through a residential area, police said. After he went into a field, McNutt bailed from the van, according to officers.

Police and a K9 caught up with McNutt a short time later.

"The warrant that he had for him considered him armed and dangerous," said Greenfield police Maj. Derek Towle. "He had the chances of being a dangerous person, and he needs to be off the street."

Some officers were slightly injured during the pursuit, police said.

McNutt was hospitalized with minor injuries. When he is released, he will face several charges.
