KOKOMO, Ind. -- A woman and her daughter who were reported missing were found unharmed in Kentucky, police said Thursday afternoon.

Kokomo police released information about Jeanette Landrum, 30, and her daughter, Haley Landrum, 5, after hearing from Jeanette's mother, Kathy, that she hadn't seen them since Oct. 23 and feared for their safety.

Kathy Landrum said her daughter told her she was going to Arkansas to visit her father in prison.

"Mrs. Landrum has since learned that Jeanette did not arrive to visit her father," Whitehead said, in an earlier news release.

Police said the woman's mother talked to her daughter, who she said suffers from a mental illness, on Nov. 11, but that she wouldn't tell her where she was.
