INDIANAPOLIS -- Police are investigating the death of a woman found in her home on Indianapolis' east side.Deneisha Watford, 28, was found unresponsive in her home at 1831 Bauer Road late Wednesday, said Sgt. Paul Thompson. She was pronounced dead at the scene."The initial investigation was a death investigation because they thought it could have been a medical or similar situation that caused her death," Thompson said.
But an autopsy revealed that Watford had been killed, although police did not release the cause of death.Neighbors said they saw Watford and a man outside her house before she was killed."Detectives told me she had just come back from a date, and he looked like he had just come back from a job," said Larry Hampton. "I think it's a pretty bad thing for a young lady to move into a new neighborhood and have to face a terrible thing."Neighbors told 6News' Sarah Cornell that Watford lived in the home with her daughter and had just moved there a couple of months ago.Police asked anyone with information to call police or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
