BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University police said they have a person of interest in the suspected sexual assault of a woman near campus after Saturday's football game. The 20-year-old woman, who is not an IU student, told police that she was with a group of family and friends in Bloomington's Red Lot before Saturday's game between IU and Purdue University, said Captain Jerry Minger. She said she became separated from the group just after 8:30 p.m., and asked a man if he knew where they were. The woman said the man told her that her friends were at a party at a home on Woodlawn Avenue adjacent to the Red Lot, and that he would take her there. She said the man led her into the basement of the home, where he said her friends were, but then grabbed her by the arm, pulled her downstairs and assaulted her.The woman said she ran from the home and called a friend to pick her up.She described the man as white, about 20 years old with medium brown hair and a buzz cut. She said that he was wearing a Purdue jacket, but had told her that he was not a student there. Police released a sketch Sunday evening. The woman said the man's name might have been Ron, with a last name beginning with an "l."Detectives said they believe they have a person of interest in the assault, but did not release that person's name. Police said none of the residents of the house were thought to be involved.Anyone with information is asked to call IU police at 812-855-4111 and ask to speak with an investigator or shift commander.
