INDIANAPOLIS -- A man who police said stabbed his ex-girlfriend several times Monday was taken into custody Tuesday, Indianapolis police said.Krystal Rogers, 23, was found near the entryway of her apartment at 5818 Stoneridge Drive just before 1 p.m., suffering from multiple stab wounds, said Lt. Jeffrey Duhamell. She was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition.Rogers' former boyfriend, Arthur Jackson, 22, was arrested without incident in the 500 block of North Chester Avenue.Investigators said Rogers and Jackson had been in an argument, and that Jackson stabbed Rogers several times before taking her vehicle, which was later found."She did fight and struggle with him and apparently she was able to get outside and summon help from the neighbors, and they called police," Duhamell said.Family members at the scene told 6News that Jackson and Rogers had known each other since middle school, and had dated on and off."I'm not sure why he would have done this," said Kaylee Porter, who said she was Rogers' cousin. "He was a quiet guy but, like, he just turned into a thief."Jackson faces charges of attempted murder, battery, criminal confinement and vehicle theft. He also had outstanding warrants for a probation violation on theft charges.
