A Noblesville man convicted of distributing child pornography was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Jeffrey Taylor, 46, who was sentenced late Thursday in federal court, was also ordered to serve a lifetime of supervised release.

In January, investigators said that Taylor distributed video and image files of child pornography from his computer.

During a search of his Noblesville home, police said they found more than 10,000 images and 500 video files showing sexually explicit material involving very young children, bestiality involving minors and sadistic abuse.

Police said that Taylor traded the files for more child pornography online.

Assistant U. S. Attorney Steve DeBrota said that during the investigation it was discovered that Taylor also molested four children he knew in the past.

Taylor denied molesting the children, but the judge ruled that the alleged sexual abuse was grounds to enhance his sentence.
