INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis police are searching for two men believed to be responsible for at least three area armed robberies. The men are wanted in connection with convenience store hold ups on the city's east side on Dec. 11 and 13, said Sgt. Paul Thompson.Images: Surveillance ImagesPolice on Friday released surveillance images of the two men taken on Dec. 11 inside the Village Pantry at 2801 E. New York St., 6News' Sarah Cornell reported.Thompson said that location was not robbed, but that the men held up the Village Pantry at 4023 E. 10th St. later that night. The men are also suspected of robbing the Village Pantry at 5102 E. 10th St. and the Circle K Gas Station at 6743 E. Washington St., both on Dec. 13.In each of the robberies, the men took money, lottery tickets and cigarettes, police said.At one store, one of the men told the clerk to destroy the surveillance video, but police said most clerks don't even have access to that data."There have been instances, when it was a VHS format, that it was not unusual for them to leave with the security tape," Thompson said. "But with digital technology, it goes on a hard drive, and it's very difficult for them to leave the store with that."The first man was described by police as black, 6 feet tall, between 250 and 280 pounds with a mustache. He was wearing a dark, hooded coat with embroidery on the sleeves, front-left breast and upper-half of the back with a skull design, along with blue jeans and black sneakers. The second man was described by police as black, between 5 feet 1 inch and 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160 pounds with a possible bald head and mustache. He was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt with black pants and white sneakers with red or black trim. The man was armed with a black revolver, police said."Give them what they want. Give them the least amount of resistance possible, because, typically, these robberies don't involve more than $100. They are in, they are out and they're not heard from again at that store," Thompson said.Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS, or visit www.crimetips.org.
