MUNCIE, Ind. -- A mother of four children was found fatally stabbed in her home on Christmas Eve, police said.Muncie police were called to the 1400 block of Kinney Street just before 11:30 a.m., when the victim's daughter found the woman's body, 6News' Rick Hightower reported.Investigators said the woman's two youngest children were inside the home when they arrived. The victim's name wasn't immediately released."Unfortunately, I think the 2-year-old was aware there was something wrong this morning because when the other girls got there, the 2-year-old was in the room trying to wake mom up," said Muncie police Detective Mark Vollmar.Police said they don't think the woman's brutal slaying stemmed from a domestic situation or a random crime. Police were called to the home earlier in the morning when the victim filed a burglary report and indicated she might know who committed that crime."The victim did make a threats report … Wednesday morning and listed two people as making some threats to her," Vollmar said.Neighbors were shaken by what happened in the home and are bewildered as to how someone could kill a mother on Christmas Eve."This is scary. Definitely, this is too close to my house," said neighbor Vickie Skinner. "It takes a really bad person. It really does. It's really sad on Christmas Eve, and the kids don't have a mother."Detectives plan to question two people in the case. Both were being held in the Blackford County Jail.
