Disabled Man Killed In Christmas Day Fire
Investigators: Cigarette Fire Ignited Oxygen Tank

EDINBURGH, Ind. -- A disabled man was killed late Christmas night when his mobile home exploded.Investigators said Lewis Palmeter, 67, was smoking a cigarette just before midnight when it started a fire and ignited a medical oxygen tank at 160 S. Workman Drive.Palmeter, a military veteran, was in a wheelchair and was not able to escape the blast.A man who was visiting the home was able to get out and is recovering at Johnson Memorial Hospital.
