Victim's Roommate Arrested In Fatal Shooting
Man Driven To Hospital Late Monday

INDIANAPOLIS -- The roommate of a man shot at a west side Indianapolis apartment building was arrested Tuesday in connection with the killing, police said.The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Monday in an apartment at 5720 W. 38th St., said Sgt. Matthew Mount.A 911 call was received just before 10:15 p.m. from a person transporting Jarvis Johnson, 20, to Westview Hospital.Johnson was pronounced dead at the hospital just after 11:15 p.m.Detectives questioned and arrested Gary Southward, 22, Tuesday morning.Police said both men, who were friends, were living at the apartment where the shooting took place.
