He found out on Friday that he will be among 23 special guests to sit with first lady Michelle Obama at Wednesday address."He said, 'Hi, this is Brian Bond from the White House, and the president and the first lady would like to invite you to attend the State of the Union to be their guest,'" Yager said. "I mean, it's one of those things you don't think will ever happen, and when it does, it's just incredible."Despite the recession, TrendyMinds has grown by 200 percent in the last year, and has doubled its workforce, all while continuing to offer retirement and health insurance plans to its seven employees. The White House learned about Yager through the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, of which he is an active member."They liked our story, they submitted it to the White House, the White House liked it and here we are today," he said. "It's amazing."Business partner Vicki Bohlsen said Yager is hardworking and worthy of the recognition."No, I'm not surprised at all that he has been invited," she said. "We're going to gather at the office and have a little party, so we will be here cheering him on."Yager said he doesn't know if Obama will mention him by name in the address, as is often the case with White House-invited guests, but said it's an honor either way.
