Missing Woman's Grandfather Denied Access To Case Info

INDIANAPOLIS -- The grandfather of a missing Greenwood woman has been denied access to sealed information about an interview her father gave to police.

John Louks contended information that Scott Louks gave to Greenwood police before he died last year could help locate Brookley Louks (pictured, right), who was 19 when she was reported missing in June and is presumed dead.

But a judge has denied the grandfather's request for the information, saying the investigation is ongoing.

Scott Louks, who was not a suspect in his daughter's disappearance, was 47 when he died of alcohol and methadone intoxication in November.

Scott Louks was a friend of Joseph Nowicki, who was named as a suspect in Brookley's disappearance.

Nowicki, of Johnson County, has not been charged in the case, and denies involvement. He is being held on firearms charges not related to Brookley Louks' disappearance.

Police in September said drops of what they believed to be Brookley Louks' blood were found on Nowicki's property. The blood was found during a search July 17, police said.

Louks, who sometimes did chores for Nowicki, was reported missing June 24. Police found her car in a restaurant parking lot in Waverly a few days afterward

Prosecutor Lance Hamner says Scott Louks provided no clues regarding his daughter's disappearance.

John Louks said he wanted the interview information for his own private investigation in the case, RTV6 reported.
