Veteran Teacher Charged With Battery
Girls Say Teacher Treated Them Roughly

GREENFIELD, Ind. -- A veteran school teacher turned himself in Tuesday on two felony and seven misdemeanor charges related to the treatment of students.Hancock County Prosecutor Dean Dobbins said Steve Hilton, 55, a teacher at Eastern Hancock Middle School, was charged with battery.Seven girls, ages of 11 and 12, claimed that Hilton grabbed their necks roughly in separate incidents that had been ongoing for quite some time.Hilton, who has been teaching for 32 years, was removed from the classroom pending the results of the investigation.
