Police: Boy Found Shot In Abdomen In Driveway

CICERO, Ind. -- A rural Hamilton County teenager died Tuesday after he was shot near his home, police said.Carson Wallace, 16, was found shot in the chest in the driveway of his home at 8301 E. 216th St., south of Cicero, just after noon, said Maj. Mark Bowen with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.Wallace was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he underwent emergency surgery, but died early Tuesday evening.Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Carter said Wallace and his 14-year-old brother were both inside the garage Tuesday afternoon when Wallace was shot.Investigators were still sorting out details of what happened but that no criminal charges were expected.Wallace's father called 911 to report his son had been shot. Police said Wallace -- who was a Noblesville High School junior -- was at home Tuesday afternoon because school had been canceled due to the snow.Neighbor Jerry Wiles said the boys were frequent hunters and knew how to handle guns.
