Woman Pulled Over After Leaving Suspected Crack House

INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman was arrested last weekend accused of leaving her 6-year-old son in an SUV while she went into a known crack house to do drugs, police said.Kelly Barngrover, 41, of Indianapolis, was arrested early Sunday morning after she left a home in the 700 block of North Grant Avenue that police were staking out because of drug activity.Officers pulled over Barngrover and saw that her son was in the back seat of the vehicle, which had been parked outside the suspected crack house for quite some time.Police had not seen Barngrover bring the child out of the house as she left. As officers were questioning her, an officer found a crack pipe in her purse, police said.Barngrover was arrested on charges of neglect of a dependent and possession of paraphernalia.The boy was placed in the custody of the Department of Child Services.
