The owner of Frosty Mug, a tavern on Indianapolis' east side, was sentenced Tuesday for dealing cocaine to patrons.

Rhonda Vela pleaded guilty to conspiracy to deal cocaine and possession of marijuana. Vela received a 20-year sentence, but 14 years were suspended.

Vela will spend six years in prison and will be on two years probation after that, said Marion Massillamany, of the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.

Police said last year that Vela, Juan Zambala and Kiyonia Vance sold cocaine at the restaurant at New York Street and Sherman Drive, less than a block from an Indianapolis Public Schools elementary school.

The business partners were the target of a seven-month police investigation after neighbors became suspicious when large numbers of people would stop by the tavern for only a few minutes at a time.

Police said undercover officers and confidential informants purchased cocaine at least 13 times inside the tavern in an effort to identify the drug supplier.
