Man Arrested In Infant Assault
4-Month-Old Boy Critically Injured

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with critical injuries to his 4-month-old son.Indianapolis police said Elvin Cabrera, 21, brought the boy to the emergency room at Wishard Memorial Hospital late Friday night with an unexplained severe head injury and told the hospital that the boy had been ill.The boy was transferred to Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition and police and the Department of Child Services began an investigation of the child's injuries.Investigators were originally stymied in their effort to talk to Cabrera, who doesn't speak English.Cabrera was arrested Tuesday on a charge of aggravated battery.
