Teens Arrested In Indianapolis Slaying

Police: Robbery Motive In Fatal Shooting

POSTED: 9:44 am EST March 11, 2010

Three teens were arrested in the killing of a man on the city's southeast side earlier this week, police said Thursday.

Mark Shepard and Randall Bowles, both 18, were arrested on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted armed robbery.

Police said Shepard and Bowles killed John Tracey, 24, at a home in the 6200 block of East Hanna Avenue.

A third man, Ronald Alan More, 19, was arrested on a charge of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Investigators think robbery was the motive in the shooting.

Police found Tracey's body early Monday morning and determined that he had been involved in a disturbance with the other men.

Tracey was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
