Man Arrested After Woman Forced To Withdraw Money
Relatives Call 911 After Request For Money

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was arrested Sunday after a woman told police that she was taken from her home at gunpoint and forced to withdraw money from ATMs around the city.The 23-year-old woman said she answered a knock at her door at 50 S. Denny St. just after noon Saturday and was confronted by three men, said Sgt. Paul Thompson.She said a man and a woman then drove her around to various ATMs to withdraw cash, and had her call relatives to get more money.Police began looking for the woman after a family member called 911 at about 10:45 a.m. Sunday to report that she had just called requesting money.Just before noon on Sunday, an anonymous caller told police that they thought a woman in a car in the parking lot of the Village Pantry at 4023 E. 10th St. was being held against her will.Officer stopped the car a short time later in the 400 block of North Linwood Avenue. Thompson said the woman, who owns the car, told police she had been abducted.A man and woman in the car were detained. When officers went to the woman’s house, they said they found three men, who were also being held Sunday evening. A handgun was also found in the home, police said.Craig Hammock, 24, was arrested on charges of battery and domestic battery. Charges are possible against the three men found in her home.Police said the woman had been in a relationship with Hammock. Thompson said the investigation was ongoing.
