CARMEL, Ind. -- New information concerning an alleged attack involving students inside a Carmel High School locker room was released by city attorneys on Monday.A 17-year-old student told police last month that he had been sexually assaulted in a locker room at the school on Jan. 8, telling investigators that there were "ongoing issues occurring in the locker rooms at Carmel High School," according to the police report.A slightly less redacted version of the same report released on Monday gives more narrative as to what the attack entailed.More: New Report: Jan. 8 Incident"I was advised by [sentence redacted] that [name redacted] and [name redacted] had been involved in an altercation with [name redacted] in the locker room," the report reads. "According to their information [name redacted] and [name redacted] had held [name redacted] down, pulled down his shorts [sentence redacted]."The police report classifies the incident as an attempted sexual assault, and lists criminal deviate conduct, sexual battery and criminal confinement as charges that could be filed in the case.Police said that they learned of the assault while investigating an attack on Jan. 22 aboard a Carmel High School bus as it returned from a boy's basketball game in Terre Haute, which school officials previously said involved two freshmen being hazed by three seniors.Investigators said charges of battery, criminal confinement and criminal deviate conduct are being considered in that incident.More: Full Report: Jan. 22 Incident The school will only say that four senior basketball players have been suspended -- three in connection with the Jan. 22 incident and the fourth for an undisclosed reason."I am deeply troubled and upset by the inappropriate behaviors that have emerged as a result of the school's investigation," said Carmel Clay Superintendent Jeff Swensson in the statement last week. "While we continue to abide by federal law regarding student privacy, I can assure everyone that where the evidence points us the most serious possible disciplinary recommendations will result."Swensson said staff actions regarding the incidents are also being investigated, and that the school may change its policies regarding athletes, coaches and hazing. He did not give a timeline for the school or police investigations.
