Prescription Pills Found In Vehicle, Police Say

CONNERSVILLE, Ind. -- A Connersville man got a wake up call from police on Tuesday after he was found asleep behind the wheel of a running car, investigators said.Troopers called to the Cherry Hill Shopping Plaza on Western Avenue in Connersville said they found Codey A. Tipton, 19, sleeping in the driver's seat just after 9 a.m.Sgt. John Bowling said the vehicle was sitting half in a parking space and half in a driving lane with the engine running, and had been there for at least an hour.Bowling said he knocked on the window of the car but wasn't able to wake Tipton, so he reached in the door, shut off the car and had to shake him before he awoke.Investigators said they found prescription of pills not belonging to Tipton in the vehicle.Tipton was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a legend drug, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of paraphernalia and public intoxication.Tipton was being held in the Fayette County Jail Tuesday night.
