PLAINFIELD, Ind. -- Police are looking for a man they said was involved in a string of recent crimes, some of them violent.

Jason Currens, 37, is suspected in a series of robberies, thefts, forgery, fraud and other offenses, Plainfield police Lt. Jill Lees said.

Currens is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He has blonde hair, green eyes and several tattoos on his arms and torso.

Police didn't immediately release additional details about the recent crimes, but Currens has an extensive criminal history in Hendricks County dating back to the early 1990s and was recently deemed a habitual offender.

"He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored pants and tennis shoes," Lees said.

Lees said investigators aren't sure if Currens is driving a vehicle or if he is armed.
