Police: Man With HIV Had Sex With Ind. Boy

Prosecutor Says Texas Man, Indiana Boy Met On Myspace

A Texas man has been charged with sexual assault with a deadly weapon after he had sex with a 15-year-old Indiana boy but didn't tell him he was HIV positive, police said.

Kevin Lee Sellars, 49, of Houston, was arrested on Friday after a two-month investigation.

Harris County Assistant District Attorney Eric Devlin told KTRK-TV that Sellars and the boy met last year on Myspace, and that boy came to Houston to visit Sellars in December.

Investigators said Sellars forced the boy to perform sex acts during a 10-day period, but didn't tell him that he was HIV positive until the relationship ended early this year.

"Upon coming back (to Houston), he was threatened by the defendant and told that the defendant he is HIV positive, and a subsequent search of the apartment found proof," Devlin said.

Prosecutors did not release the hometown of the 15-year-old boy, or say whether or not he had tested positive for the virus.

Sellars didn't try to hide his motivations on his Myspace page, which says that he "loves chasing boys" and "enjoys young boys' company."

Sellars, who is also charged with possession of child pornography, was being held on $35,000 bond.
