One person was shot Saturday afternoon at the Denver Merchandise Mart during a gun show.

The Adams County Sheriff Office confirmed one man was shot at the Tanner Gun Show. The man was taken to Denver Health Medical Center in unknown condition.

Witnesses told KMGH-TV in Denver that the man was unconscious after being shot.

Witnesses have given different stories, from a gun being dropped and going off, to a vendor accidentally shooting the gun or that it was an accident.

Authorities said they are still interviewing witnesses and trying to determine what actually occurred. However, a person familiar with the investigation told KMGH that a person attending the gun show was the person who pulled the trigger.

Adams County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Candi Baker said it is illegal to have a loaded gun at a gun show.
