INDIANAPOLIS -- Police are looking for a man who stabbed a woman and left her naked in an alley on Indianapolis' southwest side.

The 24-year-old woman told police that a man she had met just before 5 p.m. on March 12 drove her to an alley behind 1500 Shepard St. and stabbed her multiple times.

The woman stumbled to a home along Shepard Street to ask for help, and collapsed on the porch, said Sgt. Paul Thompson.

She was still hospitalized on Tuesday with permanent injuries after losing a large amount blood during the attack.

Her attacker was described as a white man in his late 30s with short hair. He was driving a gray or silver van. Police said the victim's clothing was never recovered and is believed to have been in the van.

Thompson said the victim has no history of prostitution, and that she said acts before the stabbing were consensual.
