INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis man is accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl after police said they found dozens of files of child pornography on his computers. The investigation into Dana Smith, 34, began when a computer store employee contacted police and said that Smith had shown him images of children as young as 5 years old in sexual situations. The employee said Smith bragged that one of the images showed a 14-year-old girl performing a sex act on him. When police searched the home Smith shared with his mother, along with his girlfriend's home, they said they found several pictures and videos of child pornography, including some that included Smith."In talking with some of the investigators, it's my understanding that this is some of the worst explicit sexual acts they have ever seen," said Lt. Jeffrey Duhamell.Using information found on Smith's computers, police said they identified one victim -- now 21 years old -- who told police that Smith had molested her for two years, beginning when she was 12 years old.She said Smith, who was a friend of her stepfather, often baby sat her, and would show her pornographic movies, take pictures of her and force her to have sex with him.Smith was arrested and preliminarily charged with 10 felony counts of child molestation.Police said they are trying to identify other potential victims.
